From my earliest efforts at drawing with black crayon on my brother’s bedroom wall, I have felt the need to express myself visually, to record the world around me, and to accept challenges I am given to give form to abstract ideas and make order and interest out of words and images.
I am a graphic designer by trade and have worked in publishing, advertising agencies, and for large monolithic financial companies and non-profits in efforts to make each client’s message recognizable, memorable, enticing, and easily understood.
I am also a visual artist at heart and love to use all kinds of image-making/adjusting methods including photography, drawing, painting, computer software, and more! This blog is an effort to share my enthusiasm for life as a visual artist and to remind myself that everything I have created or enhanced in my life is a part of my body of work, not just the obvious stuff in my portfolio.
Writing is also a love, primarily as a way to express my thoughts.
A bit more about me:
-My first favorite book was “Harold and the Purple Crayon”
-My pipe dream was to be a photojournalist
-I have a wonderful husband who is an artist in the kitchen
-The title of the blog comes from my middle name.
